Notice of participation in the "Japan Climate Initiative"

SAKATA INX CORPORATION (Yoshiaki Ueno, Representative Director, President & CEO) announces that it has participated in the "Japan Climate Initiative" to achieve a decarbonized society.
 

 

The Japan Climate Initiative is a network established in July 2018 that consists of diverse entities that are non-national governments including companies, local governments, organizations, NGOs, etc. committed to implement climate actions in Japan. The initiative carries out activities based on the declaration of joining the front line of the global push for decarbonization from Japan.
 

In our long-term strategic vision, "SAKATA INX VISION 2030," we set strengthening our ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and sustainability efforts by emphasizing the global environment and local community as an important strategy, and activities to maintain a sustainable global environment as one of our material issues. We aim to protect the global environment and achieve a society that people can live safely and healthy. In our climate change activities, our target is to reduce 50% of greenhouse gas (Scope 1, 2) compared to 2013 by 2030 and virtually zero by 2050. We continue to promote production efficiency, energy visualization, energy saving activities, introduction of renewable energy and others. We also deploy products that contribute to reducing CO₂ emissions by expanding our product lines for botanical products which contains plant-derived components and developing ink with higher botanical content (ratio of plant-derived components).
 

Taking the occasion to participate in the Japan Climate Initiative, we will continue to take further actions on climate change in order to resolve societal issues and to build a sustainable society.
