SAKATA INX CORPORATION (Yoshiaki Ueno, Representative Director, President & CEO) announces that the "Sakata Forest," a green space at our Shiga Plant (located in Maibara City, Shiga Prefecture), has been recognized by the Ministry of the Environment as a "Natural Symbiosis Site*1," an area dedicated to the preservation of biodiversity.
SAKATA Forest
The SAKATA Forest was established in 2014, coinciding with the commencement of plant operations. We have been cultivating a green environment by selecting tree species that consider local planting, guided by the concept of "Creation of Familiar Landscapes."

We remain committed to the conservation and restoration of biodiversity through the ongoing maintenance and management of the SAKATA Forest and will continue to advance sustainability initiatives across the Group.
*1 | "Natural Symbiosis Sites": A system established by the Ministry of the Environment to certify areas where biodiversity is conserved through private-sector efforts, aiming to achieve the "30 by 30" goal of effectively conserving at least 30% of land and sea as healthy ecosystems by 2030. Certified areas are registered in the international database as OECM*2, excluding overlap with protected areas. |
*2 | OECM (Other Effective area-based Conservation Measures): Areas outside of protected zones, such as satochi-satoyama (community-based forest areas and the surrounding countryside), corporate forests, and shrine and temple forests, where biodiversity is being conserved by local communities, companies, and organizations. |
