Notice Concerning Joint Research Agreement with NDFEB Corporation Led by Neodymium Magnet Inventor Dr. Masato Sagawa and His Appointment as Outside Technology Advisor

SAKATA INX CORPORATION (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka; Representative Director, President & CEO: Yoshiaki Ueno; Securities Code: 4633; hereinafter, the“Company”) announced that it has signed a joint research agreement on development of neodymium magnet manufacturing methods with NDFEB Corporation. Dr. Masato Sagawa, the globally renowned inventor of neodymium magnets, is the Representative Director of NDFEB Corporation. Additionally, Dr. Sagawa has been appointed to be an Outside Technology Advisor of the Company to provide technical advice and support for this joint research project.

Of all permanent magnets currently available commercially, neodymium magnets have the strongest magnetic characteristics. They are used in a wide range of fields including electric vehicles, robots, different types of motors, home electric appliances and medical equipment. They are a key functional material supporting today's society. This joint research project will combine Dr. Sagawa's extensive knowledge on neodymium magnets and the material design technologies the Company has cultivated to date to reduce the loss of materials, improve molding stability and develop neodymium magnets whose magnetic characteristics are even stronger than currently possible. In addition, the companies will work to quickly establish a next-generation manufacturing process with a view toward its commercialization to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
This project is one of the Company's initiatives to create new business opportunities in new business sectors that it defines as growth areas, and the Company believes it will lead to the medium- and long-term improvement of its corporate value.
