In order to grow sustainably as a company that society trusts and needs, we comply with domestic and international laws and regulations and ensure our business activities are fair and honest, and in accordance with social norms and corporate ethics.

Risk & Compliance Committee

The Risk & Compliance Committee discusses issues pertaining to risk and compliance and approves measures to take with the aim of ensuring that risk is thoroughly managed by the group and that business activities are based on our management philosophy, code of ethics, and a law-abiding spirit.

Code of Conduct and Ethics

In order for each employee to act with common sense, the Code of Conduct and Ethics sets out the values and ethics of the company. It incorporates the thinking of "we should not merely comply with items indicated in laws, etc. but also we must think what society is demanding from our company and act with higher level of consciousness."

Internal Control Committee

Implementation Status of Internal Control System

Under the basic policy for Implementation of Internal Control System (see below) decided by a resolution at the board of directors meeting on May 18, 2006, we are undertaking activities in regards to the implementation of internal control system.
Since April 1, 2011, the Internal Control Committee has undertaken another general verification of all of the systems and initiatives implemented, and has planned, formulated and implemented a variety of measures to make further improvements.
Three subcommittees, the General Control Subcommittee, the Business Process Control Subcommittee and the IT Control Subcommittee have been established under the Internal Control Committee, with each subcommittee implementing various measures.
The implementation and operational status of the internal control system is independently evaluated by the Internal Auditing Division.

Establishment of INX Helpline, whistleblowing system

While placing importance on the protection of whistleblowers, we strive to prevent illegal activities and to identify and resolve problems when they occur as soon as possible. The two functions of the system are: to receive reports when an employee or organization becomes aware of an action that violates laws, regulations or company rules and to offer consultations when an employee or organization has questions about their actions in terms of the Ethical Code of Conduct or when it is difficult to talk to their superior.

Publishing of Legal News

Our internal emails include a Legal News section. This section aims to raise employees’ awareness of compliance by providing basic legal knowledge and providing information that is useful to know. To prevent insider trading by employees, we distribute Legal News and a booklet explaining insider trading regulations issued by the Tokyo Stock Exchange to employees to ensure they are aware of the regulations.
