Basic Policy on Intellectual Property

Under the corporate philosophy of “Mind within the Mind,” we make efforts, as a member of society, to contribute to the overall development of society by actively creating, utilizing and protecting intellectual property as a means to secure competitiveness and to enhance corporate values. We hereby enact the “SAKATA INX Group Basic Policy on Intellectual Property” as the guideline for efforts to practice intellectual property strategy based on integration of business and R&D strategy in our entire group.

1. Create and utilize intellectual property

We will create and utilize intellectual property appropriate to global deployment as an important management resource to our group’s businesses.

2. Protect and respect intellectual property

We will appropriately protect our group’s intellectual property and respect third party’s right to intellectual property.

3. Risk management related to intellectual property

We will adequately address and apply risk management to prevent and mitigate intellectual property risks that would have a significant impact on business and R&D strategy such as infringement of right, technology leakage, etc.

4. Protect and enhance brand value by strategic utilization of intellectual property

We will properly manage our group’s brand as intellectual property, and will protect and enhance our brand value by strategic utilization.

5. Education on intellectual property, foster and secure human resources

We will conduct education on intellectual property to create, utilize and protect intellectual property, and to raise awareness for respecting third party’s intellectual property. Furthermore, we will strive to foster and secure personnel related to intellectual property.
